Új módszerekkel a fejlődés útján

Az Óbudai Árpád Gimnázium nagy múltú intézmény, de ha meg akarja őrizni színvonalát, elismertségét egyben modernek is kell lennie. Az iskolánkba jelentkező komoly célokat kitűző diákokat olyan készségekkel kell útjukra bocsátanunk, melyben a gyorsan változó világban is megállják a helyüket. A biztos tárgyi tudás persze fontos, de a nyitottság, rugalmasság, az együttműködésre, a megújulásra való készség legalább ilyen fontos jövőjük szempontjából. Hogyan lehet ilyen diákokat nevelni? Csak úgy, ha magunk is nyitottak, aktívak és vállalkozóak vagyunk. „Új módszerekkel a fejlődés útján” című projektünk célja, hogy az egyébként is aktív tantestület számára biztosítsa az állandó megújulás lehetőségét.

Napjainkban az élethosszig való tanulás már sokak számára természetesnek számít. Tantestületünk tagjai rendszeresen vesznek részt szakmai továbbképzéseken, konferenciákon vagy önállóan képzik magukat a már bőséggel (pl. egyetemek, tudományos intézetek oldalán) elérhető tananyagok, vagy akár online tanfolyamok segítségével. Számtalan tanórán túli programot, versenyt, tábort szerveznek diákjainknak, melyek során készségeik tovább intergálódhatnak, ily módon adva komplex tudást és a tudás alkalmazásához szükséges készségeket.

A projektben résztvevő tanárok egy kivétellel nem nyelvtanárok, számukra óriási jelentőséggel bír nyelvi készségük fejlesztése. A mobilitások eredményeképpen szemléletük tágul,  ismeretségek, kapcsolatok kialakítására nyílik lehetőségük.

Szeretnénk valamit jobban, új módszerekkel, hatékonyabban megvalósítani az oktatásban? Talán manapság a legégetőbb ez a kérdés, hiszen a gyorsan változó világban, ahol diák és tanár is állandó időhiánnyal küzd a korábban bevált tanítási módszerek már nem elegendőek, és egész biztosan nem alkalmasak mindenki számára. Az érdeklődést és motivációt felkelteni, fenntartani szintén nagy kihívást jelent a mai kor tanárai számára. Diákjainknak célokat mutatni, azokban megerősíteni őket pedig a legfontosabb feladat számunkra. Projektünk legfőbb célja ezért  új módszerek megismerése, illetve a már ismert korszerű módszerek tapasztalatainak megvitatása. A kurzusokon szerzett új ismereteket megosztjuk az egész tantestülettel. Együtt továbbgondolva, s az új szemlélettel gazdagodva javíthatjuk környezetünket, tehetjük diákjaink számára befogadhatóbbá a tudást.

A pályázatban hat kolléga vesz részt, mindannyian több éves tanítási tapasztalattal. Matematika, informatika, történelem, testnevelés, ének-zene  és média szakos is. Céljuk saját nyelvi és szaknyelvi fejlődésük mellett, a nemzetközi csapatban aktívan együttműködve új módszereket, azokkal kapcsolatos tapasztalatokat megismerni.

Hosszútávon az iskola a 21. századi elvárásoknak szeretne megfelelni, valamint aktívan részt kíván venni a nemzetközi és hazai folyamatok fő áramában. Az oktatás színvonalát folyamatosan emelve, a változó igényekre rugalmasan reagálva szeretné bővíteni a diákok és tanárok számára nyújtott lehetőségeket.

A 2019 novemberében megnyert pályázat megvalósítása a pandémia miatt két évet tolódott. A projekt az idei évben indul újára.

 

New Methods on the Way of Development

Óbudai Árpád Secondary Grammar School is an institution with great history but if we want to keep its high level of performance and recognition it has to be modern too. The students applying for admission to our school should gain such skills which help them to succeed even in our continuously changing world. Naturally firm knowledge of the subject matter is highly important but it is also vital to be open-minded, flexible, having cooperative skills and being able to adapt. How should we educate them to be like that? Only by being open-minded, active and venturesome ourselves can we achieve it. ’New Methods on the Way of Development’ is the title of our project, which is aimed at ensuring the possibility for constant renewal for our active teaching staff.

Nowadays life-long learning is natural for most people. Members of our teaching staff participate regularly in professional courses, conferences or do self-study using the websites, online courses and self-study resources of universities, academic institutions. They organize extra-curricular activities, camps, competitions for the students, which enables their skills to integrate and through this they can teach complex knowledge and applicational skills to students.

The participants except for one are not language teachers so it is highly important for them to improve their foreign language skills. As a result of the mobility their view widens, the possibility to build new connections opens for them.

Would we like to do something better, more efficient in the education with new methods? Probably this is the most urgent question today. Hence in our fast-changing world, where  students and teachers constantly facing the problem of having little time, the former methods are not sufficient  and certainly not convenient for everybody. It also sets a challenge for today’s teachers to raise and maintain motivation and interest. Still the most important thing is to show aims and reinforce them in reaching those. That is why we chose the main objective of our project to learn new methods and debate the already learnt current methods with fellow-teachers. We will share the knowledge gained on the courses with the whole staff. Thinking together enriched with the new techniques, we can improve our environment and make the material more comprehensible for the students.

Six colleagues participate in the project, all of them with many years of experience. Teachers of mathematics, informatics, history, physical education, music and media. Their objectives, besides improving their language skills, are to get to know new methods and experience about them with cooperation of the international team.

In the long-run the school would like to live up to the expectations of the 21st century and participate in the main stream of the national and international processes. We would like to expand the possibilities for the teachers and students with the continuous improvement of the level of tuition and flexible reaction of the changing demands.

The implementation of the tender won in November 2019 was postponed by two years due to the pandemic. The project will start this year.
